If you are not sure if your motor is New Shimano EP801, check your motor. There will be 4 Motor Ports. Comparing to the old one, there where only 3 motor ports.

However, the sensors remain the same, with the butterfly-shaped one typically installed in the dropout.


You do have the option of utilizing the BadassBox 2020 Shimano with it. Another choice is to swap out the original sensor and substitute it with the older type, now known as EW-SS300 (although they're essentially identical, do note that the plug on the newer type is considerably smaller). However, with the sensor situated in the dropout, you won't be able to manipulate the speed signal with the BadassBox. As a result, it must be relocated to the swing arm and aligned with a magnet on the spoke using the universal adapter provided.



Make sure that regardless of whether it is upside down or not, the magnet must be on this side of the box (as shown above), significantly next to it.
The advantage here is that you can easily disconnect the original sensor from the panel and replace it with the other one. The original sensor can stay in its place, and you can use it with or without the BadassBox, as originally intended. An additional magnet is always included with the BadassBox kit.
