PearTune 3.0 for Shimano EP801 and EP6 motors

This Peartune tuning kit removes the 16mph (25km/h) speed limit, allowing the motor to help you at higher speeds. For these Shimano bikes, the speed limit is raised to 31mph (50km/h).

When tuning kit is activated - real speed will be displayed up to 14-15mph (21-25km/h), at higher speeds the bike will show incorrect, slower than real speeds.

The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor's power relative to pedaling speed. This guarantees a smooth motor control without speed limit interruptions. Depending on a tuning kit, some determine when assistance stops, while others remove the restriction entirely for continuous support. However, the achievable speed mostly depends on the eBike model. Achievable speed can be calculated using a simple formula:

Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1.000.000 [mm/km]

The tuning kit is designed to automatically activate when the eBike is powered on. When PearTune is active - you will be able to ride at a speed of 25 mph (40 km/h) and even up to 31 mph (50 km/h)!

NOTE 1: Real speed will be displayed up to 14-15mph (21-25km/h), at higher speeds the bike will show incorrect, slower than real speeds.

NOTE 2: If the bike's lights are programmed to remain permanently ON, the tuning kit will not function. The tuning kit requires the lights to be OFF for activation.

If You can switch the lights ON and OFF - tuning kit can be deactivated by switching the lights ON. Your e-bike will then work the same as before installation of the chip.

Many bikes are delivered with the lights function inactive, which can be activated by any Shimano service upon request.

This Peartune tuning kit is made to fit all Shimano EP801 and EP6 motors.


Not Compatible with Shimano E8000 / E7000 / E5000. You would need Peatune for Shimano E8000 / E7000 / E5000. Not Compatible with Shimano EP8. You would need PearTune 3.0 for Shimano EP8

Refer to the bike manual for detailed instructions. Installation Steps:

Remove the motor cover. Disconnect the speed sensor. Loosen the screw on the positive (+) light clamp of light connection terminal. Attach the speed sensor to the MSO unit and connect the MSO unit to the motor. Connect the red power cable to the positive light clamp and tighten the screw. Secure the MSO unit in place, fasten the wiring with ties, and reattach the plastic cover. The bike is now ready.

If you are planning to install PearTune on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride it for at least 0.6 miles (1 km) before the tuning kit is activated.
