Description
Planet3 is an easily installed and reversible way to derestrict your eBike. It uses a purely mechanical design utilizing a patent pending planetary gear set which makes it undetectable to the eBike's electronic gizmos and gives you full control over the choice of speed at which you want to ride your eBike.
No more pushing through pudding after hitting the speed limit, virtually no maintenance and no worries. Just you and your eBike - the way it was meant to be!
PLANET3 is a planetary gear set which reduces the rotation speed of the magnet used by the wheel speed sensor three times. For every three full rotations of the rear wheel, the magnet completes just one full rotation - effectively making the bike think it's doing 1/3 the speed it is actually doing, thus increasing the pedal assist speed limit by a factor of 3. For the Specialized models sold on UK/EU market this translates into a speed limit increase from 15.5 to 47 mph (25 to 75 kmh), while the US and Canada models limit is raised from 20 to 60 mph.
Hub compatibility:
DT Swiss - Any hub with a simple 19 mm diameter end cap profile (Roval, DT Swiss, Syntace, Stan's NEO) .
SRAM MTH746 - Formula DHT-148S rebranded as SRAM-MTH746.
Hope Pro4 - Comes with a CNC machined replacement end cap for the Hope Pro4 boost hub.
Brake disc compatibility:
Stock - the brake rotor which comes stock on the bike.
Shimano XT - Shimano SM-RT76 or SM-RT86 two-piece rotor.
Hope Floating - Hope Floating two-piece rotor is compatible with the PLANET3 on Giant e-bikes.
Magura - Magura MDR-C or MDR-P rotors are within the allowed thickness at the 6-bolt interface.
Physical damage by outside factors such as rock strikes, caught branches and sticks is not covered by warranty. Buyer accepts the risk that crashing or having a branch caught between a rotor and a frame can damage a plastic device and this will not be covered by warranty.
It is possible to purchase an extra Planet3 part if the buyer is willing to do so. Please, contact us about it.
