VOLspeed E-Bike Tuning Kit for Giant Syncdrive Pro2 / Pro3 / Pro3x / Sport2 / Sport3 - V5

The device is installed invisibly on the motor from the outside. No cables need to be damaged or modified, the module is simply plugged in.

All settings can be conveniently configured using your e-bike's control unit.

A unique feature of this module is the ability to adjust the speed limit, the motor cut-off characteristics, and the wheel circumference directly via the display.

Unlike most tuning modules, which almost completely remove the motor assistance limit, this module allows you to increase the limit only slightly – for example, to 32 km/h. This provides a noticeably sportier riding experience while maintaining moderate battery consumption. To reduce the abrupt loss of motor assistance at the speed limit, the cut-off range can be extended over twice the normal speed range, resulting in a much smoother transition.

Note: To use all tuning functions, your e-bike must be able to display both the total distance (odometer) and the current speed. If your e-bike does not have a display, you can upgrade it with a compatible display such as the RideDash Plus.

The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor's power relative to pedaling speed, ensuring smooth motor control free from interruptions by speed limits. The achievable speed largely depends on the eBike model and can be calculated using the following formula:

Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1,000,000 [mm/km]

VOLspeed can be activated directly on your bike’s controllers by pressing the [- + - +] sequence. Upon activation, the speed limit is displayed for 5 seconds. Default value: 20 mph (32 km/h). If you would like to change the maximum speed, use the [+/-] keys. The set value is saved until you change it. To deactivate the tuning kit, press the [- + - +] sequence again. The tuning is automatically switched off each time the bike is turned on.

VOLspeed V5 features a "softer curtailment behavior" (dynamic mode), which significantly softens the otherwise abrupt deceleration at the speed limit. It ensures correct display of speed, distance covered, and average speed at all times, as well as accurate total mileage of the bike even after the tuning module has been removed. The wheel circumference is adjustable (+/-10%) to improve the accuracy of the speed display and distance measurement.

Not Compatible with: - All original Yamaha motors (PW, PW-X, PW-X2, PW-X3, PW-X4, PW-SE, PW-TE, PW-ST) - Giant Syncdrive Sport and Pro motors.

The tuning module only works with e-bikes that have an electric motor support of up to 16mph (25 km/h) ex works. Children's e-bikes with a support up to 20 km/h (12 mph) and Speed-e-bikes with a support up to 45 km/h (28 mph) are not supported.

When connecting Tuning Kit to an e-bike you will find connectors colored to make installation very simple. We have prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation easy for you. Disassembly of our tuning kit is just as easy. If you have any troubles with installation or disassembly, do not hesitate to contact us. If you are planning to install Volspeed on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride it for at least 0.6 miles (1 km) before the tuning kit is activated.

Warranty does not cover damage resulting from eBike software updates. Remove the tuning kit before updating the software. Check with us first to ensure the kit is compatible with your updated eBike. We cannot guarantee that the kit will function the same after updates. Please exercise caution.
