Battery Basics: How Not to Kill a €3,000 Battery

Your battery is the heart of your e-moto.

Treat it well and it lasts years.
Treat it poorly and it becomes very expensive very fast.

Smart charging habits

Avoid extremes:

  • don’t store at 0%

  • don’t leave at 100% for weeks

  • aim for 40–70% storage

Let the battery cool before charging after riding.

Cold weather matters

Cold reduces:

  • range

  • power

  • charging speed

Never charge a frozen battery. Always let it warm up indoors first.

What damages batteries most

  • cheap chargers

  • moisture in connectors

  • deep discharge storage

  • ignoring warnings

Most failures come from storage mistakes — not riding.
