A smart product of the third generation with an option to set a speed limit of an e-bike.

SpeedBox 3.0 tuning product enables to select speed limit of your own choice. After the product is installed, your e-bike’s display will show real data, such as maximum and average speeds, daily mileage and cruising range.

Note: The Speedbox App is an application specially designed for Speedbox B. Tuning products only. With a non-Bluetooth Speedbox product like this one, the Speedbox App is unavailable.

SpeedBox 3.0 B.Tuning for Specialized motors

The tuning kit manipulates the speed signal without altering the motor's power relative to pedaling speed. This guarantees a smooth motor control without speed limit interruptions. Depending on a tuning kit, some determine when assistance stops, while others remove the restriction entirely for continuous support. However, the achievable speed mostly depends on the eBike model. Achievable speed can be calculated using a simple formula:

Speed = Cadence [rpm] * Wheel circumference [mm] * Front Chainring Teeth / Rear Chainring Teeth * 60 [min/h] / 1.000.000 [mm/km]

SpeedBox is installed into the e-bike frame under the TCU/ TCD unit. You will activate the tuning by switching the e-bike off and on twice. After that, the tuning is still active with a set maximum assistance speed of 50 km/h.

You can set the maximum speed limit by switching the modes from TURBO mode three levels down and then three levels up (TRAIL - ECO - OFF - ECO - TRAIL - TURBO). The display will show the default maximum speed limit of 25 km/h. With each brief activation of the WALK function, you will increase the maximum speed limit by 5 km/h (some types of displays may round up the number to the nearest whole number). The last displayed limit will be saved after 5 seconds of inactivity. The set limit must be confirmed by turning the e-bike off and on twice.

You can check the currently set maximum speed limit by pressing the + - + - button combination.

Compatible with motors:
Specialized and Specialized SL motors with TCU or TCD display.

Not compatible with:
Specialized SL bike models equipped with TCU Mastermind

When connecting the SpeedBox tuning kit to an e-bike you will find connectors colored to make installation very simple. We have prepared detailed instructions and videos to make installation easy for you. Disassembly of our tuning chip is just as easy. If you have any troubles with installation or disassembly, do not hesitate to contact us.

If you are planning to install SpeedBox on a brand-new bike, make sure you ride it for at least 0.6 miles (1 km) before the chip is activated.
