TORP controllers are the most popular way to add power to Surron and Talaria electric motorcycles. The current generation is the TC500 2.0 and TC1000 2.0. Both fit without rewiring, keep the stock display and safety sensors, and are tuned from the TORP app on your phone. Here is how they differ, which bikes they fit and what is new in 2026.

Both controllers use FOC motor control, work with the stock battery and its BMS, and have a redundant throttle signal, temperature and overcurrent protection, regenerative braking set per ride mode, and fault diagnostics in the app. The stock kickstand and crash sensors, mode button and display keep working.

Important: the new 2026 Surron Light Bee with its 72 V system is not yet supported by TORP controllers. The Ultra Bee takes the TC1000 2.0 only.
TC500 2.0: who it is for
The TC500 2.0 is the best choice if you keep the stock motor. On the stock battery you feel the difference straight away – harder acceleration and more torque – and with a stronger battery and the TORP TM25 motor the TC500 2.0 reaches up to 30 kW. It ships precalibrated and installs in about 20 minutes.
TC1000 2.0: who it is for
The TC1000 2.0 is for riders planning a full power package: a bigger motor and a high-current battery. Twice the current means the controller will not hold back even TM40 or TM50 class motors. It is the only TORP controller for the Ultra Bee, and it keeps the stock traction control working.

What is new in 2026
- Wheelie Control (beta). On 2 October 2026 TORP released Wheelie Control for all 2.X controllers on supported bikes. You choose the wheelie angle and how the system responds, and Soft Landing brings the front wheel down more gently. Enable it in the app under Info → Firmware Update → "Include Beta", then update the controller firmware. Read the manual and calibrate before riding.
- TC1000 2.0 HV. A high-voltage version for packs up to 96.2 V (26S) and up to 60 kW is in development, expected in early 2027. For standard 60–80 V packs choose the regular TC1000 2.0.

Prices as of October 2026. TORP also recommends the TORP display so you always see the active mode – especially with Wheelie Control. The TORP thumb throttle makes regenerative braking easy to use, and Ultra Bee owners can add the TORP heatsink.
Which one should you choose?
- TC500 2.0 – Light Bee or Talaria with the stock or TM25 motor and a stock or 72 V battery. The biggest power gain for the money.
- TC1000 2.0 – Ultra Bee, or Light Bee / Talaria with a TM40 or TM50 motor and a high-current battery. Headroom for future upgrades.
Legal status and warranty
A controller swap increases power, so a registered (L1e or L3e) bike no longer matches its type approval and may only be ridden on tracks and private land. The manufacturer warranty may no longer cover modified parts. More in L1e or L3e: licence and registration.
